THE BREARLEY SCHOOL

PROJECT DETAILS
The Brearley School project consisted of a new, out-of-ground 12-story school building for the Brearley’s Lower School program. Located at 590 East 83rd Street, the project included one basement level, several floors of classrooms, a gymnasium, an auditorium, an outdoor roof deck play area, and a mechanical penthouse. In addition to the new building, Brearley also renovated their existing facility. The project consisted of phased renovation projects, including upgrades to the existing infrastructure.
The Brearley School is a top-ranked all-girls school located on the Upper East Side. This project was much needed in order to accommodate the 700 students in attendance. Additionally, space was needed for the growing school’s programs while also establishing a new campus gateway.
The Brearley School project has been named Best K-12 Educational project in New York by Engineering News-Record for the 2021 Regional Best Project Awards.
